Brainspotting is a therapy that uses eye position to access and process emotions stored in the brain and body. It focuses on specific “brainspots” to help the nervous system release stress, trauma, and overwhelm. Rather than relying only on talk therapy, it supports the body’s natural healing and regulation. It’s often used in trauma counseling to promote calm, clarity, and emotional balance over time.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that explores how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. It helps identify and reframe unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns that contribute to distress, and it teaches practical, skills-based strategies for managing stress and changing behavior. Over time, CBT can improve emotional regulation and increase a sense of control over anxiety, stress, and depression. It is also commonly used in trauma counseling to support long-term coping and recovery.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) blends CBT with mindfulness practices to help you notice thoughts and feelings without reacting automatically or becoming overwhelmed by them. It builds emotional regulation, healthier coping skills, and stronger stress management. MBCT is commonly used to reduce anxiety, stress, and depression, support trauma counseling, and help prevent relapse over time by increasing awareness and stability.
